Dialiptin M 850

Presentation: Each tablet of Dialiptin M 850 contains 50 mg of vildagliptin and 850 mg of metformin hydrochloride. The tablets are film-coated and are available in blister packs.

Indications: Dialiptin M is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both vildagliptin and metformin is appropriate. It is used in patients whose blood sugar is not controlled well enough with metformin alone or who are already taking vildagliptin and metformin as separate tablets.  

Dosage and Administration: The dosage of Dialiptin M should be individualized based on the patient's current regimen. It is usually taken twice daily with meals to reduce the gastrointestinal side effects associated with metformin.

• The usual starting dose is one tablet of Dialiptin M 50/500 mg or 50/850 mg twice daily, depending on the patient's prior treatment with metformin.
• Patients receiving vildagliptin and metformin from separate tablets may be switched to Dialiptin M containing the same doses of each component.  
• Doses higher than 100 mg of vildagliptin per day are not recommended.  
• It should be taken with or just after food to reduce gastrointestinal symptoms associated with metformin.  

Side Effects: Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, and tremor. Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) may occur when Dialiptin M is used in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as sulfonylureas or insulin.

Precautions: Dialiptin M is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR < 30 mL/min/1.73 m²), acute metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis, and known hypersensitivity to vildagliptin, metformin, or any of the excipients. It is not recommended for use in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Assess renal function before initiation and monitor periodically. Avoid excessive alcohol intake. Dialiptin M should be temporarily discontinued in patients undergoing radiologic studies with intravascular administration of iodinated contrast materials or any surgical procedures necessitating restricted intake of food and fluids. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of pancreatitis.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
