Dancel Aloe contains Ketoconazole, a potent broad-spectrum antifungal. It works by inhibiting the enzyme 14-α-sterol demethylase, which stops the conversion of lanosterol into ergosterol—an essential building block of the fungal cell membrane. This disrupts membrane integrity, increases cell permeability, and causes toxic metabolites to accumulate, destroying the fungal cell from within.
Shampoo: Treats and prevents scalp/skin conditions linked to Malassezia yeast, including dandruff (pityriasis capitis), seborrheic dermatitis, and localized pityriasis versicolor.
Cream: Topical treatment for fungal skin infections like tinea corporis (body ringworm), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea manus (hand fungus), tinea pedis (athlete's foot), sweat rash, and cutaneous candidiasis.
Medicated Bar: Formulated for overall body fungal coverage.
Tablet: Reserved for widespread, deep, or severe systemic fungal infections of the skin, hair, and nails (like chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis or oral thrush) when topical options fail.

Dandruff/Seborrheic Dermatitis Treatment: Use twice weekly for 2 to 4 weeks. (Maintenance: Once every 1 to 2 weeks).
Pityriasis Versicolor Treatment: Use once daily for 5 consecutive days.
Apply directly to the cleaned, dry affected area and the surrounding skin once or twice daily.
Athlete's Foot (Tinea Pedis): Apply twice daily. Mild cases take 1 week; extensive cases should continue until a few days after all symptoms completely disappear to avoid a relapse.
Steroid Rebound Effect: If you have been applying a potent topical steroid cream to your skin or scalp, do not swap to Dancel Aloe abruptly. Space it out by gradually tapering off the steroid over 2 to 3 weeks while introducing Dancel to prevent your skin condition from flaring up in reaction.
Tablet Monitoring: Dancel tablets carry significant warnings. They require regular liver function tests (LFTs). Stop taking tablets immediately and call a doctor if you experience liver warning signs: persistent nausea, fatigue, pale stools, dark urine, or yellowing skin/eyes.
Stomach Acid Dependency (Tablets): Dancel tablets need stomach acid to dissolve. Antacids, PPIs (like Omeprazole), or H2 blockers will severely impair pill absorption.
Topical (Shampoo, Cream, Bar): Because ketoconazole is not absorbed into the bloodstream through the skin, topical Dancel Aloe products can be safely used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Avoid applying cream to the breasts right before nursing.
Oral (Tablets): Systemic tablets show reproductive risks and pass into breast milk. Oral tablets are contraindicated during breastfeeding and require a strict medical evaluation during pregnancy.
