Citalex 10

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains 10 mg Escitalopram (as Escitalopram Oxalate).

Indications: Treatment of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). May also be used for Panic Disorder with or without agoraphobia, Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Dosage & Administration: For depression and generalized anxiety disorder, the usual starting dose for adults is 10 mg once daily. The dose may be increased by your doctor to a maximum of 20 mg once daily. For panic disorder and social anxiety disorder, the initial dose is often 5 mg once daily for the first week, then increased to 10 mg once daily. For OCD, the usual starting dose is 10 mg once daily, which may be increased to a maximum of 20 mg daily. Take once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Side Effects: Common: Nausea, headache, insomnia, drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, increased sweating, fatigue, decreased appetite, diarrhea, constipation, ejaculation disorder (in men), anorgasmia (in women). Less common: Anxiety, restlessness, confusion, sleep disturbances, taste disturbance, visual disturbances, tremor, palpitations. Rare: Serotonin syndrome, seizures, hyponatremia (low sodium levels).

Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, heart problems (especially QT prolongation), a history of seizures or bleeding disorders, or bipolar disorder. Use caution with alcohol and other CNS depressants. May increase the risk of suicidal thoughts, especially in children and young adults. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid abrupt discontinuation.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
