Cinazin 15 Tablet

Presentation: Each tablet contains Cinnarizine BP 15 mg.

Indications: Cinazin is an antihistamine and calcium channel blocker used for:

• Maintenance therapy for labyrinthine disorders, including vertigo, dizziness, tinnitus, nystagmus, and nausea and vomiting.
• Prevention of motion sickness.
• Maintenance therapy for symptoms of cerebrovascular insufficiency, including dizziness, headache, irritability, loss of memory, and lack of concentration.
• Maintenance therapy for symptoms of peripheral vascular disorders, including Raynaud's phenomenon, acrocyanosis, intermittent claudication, and trophic disturbances.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage depends on the condition being treated and the patient's response. It is usually administered orally.

• Labyrinthine disorders: Adults: 1 tablet (15 mg) three times daily. Children (5-12 years): Half the adult dose three times daily.
• Motion sickness: Adults: 1 tablet (15 mg) two hours before travel, followed by 1 tablet every 8 hours during the journey if needed. Children (5-12 years): Half the adult dose.
• Cerebrovascular insufficiency: Adults: 1 tablet (15 mg) three times daily.
• Peripheral vascular disorders: Adults: 2 or 3 tablets (30-45 mg) two or three times daily.

It is recommended to take Cinazin after meals to minimize gastric irritation.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Drowsiness
• Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain)
• Headache
• Dry mouth

Less common side effects may include weight gain, allergic reactions, and extrapyramidal symptoms (muscle stiffness, tremors, slow movement), especially in elderly patients with pre-existing conditions.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with Parkinson's disease, as it may worsen symptoms.
• May cause drowsiness; caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery.
• Avoid alcohol consumption as it may increase drowsiness.
• Use with caution in patients with hypotension (low blood pressure).
• The safety of Cinazin during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been fully established; consult your doctor.

Contraindications: Cinazin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cinnarizine or any of the excipients.

Drug Interactions: Cinazin may enhance the sedative effects of alcohol, barbiturates, and other CNS depressants.

Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
