Cinazin Plus Tablet

Presentation: Each tablet contains Cinnarizine BP 20 mg and Dimenhydrinate USP 40 mg.

Indications: Cinazin Plus is indicated for the treatment of vertigo (a sensation of dizziness or spinning) of various origins. It is also used for nausea and vomiting associated with vertigo and motion sickness. Other uses may include symptoms related to cerebral and peripheral circulatory disorders.

Dosage and Administration: The usual dose for adults is one tablet three times daily, to be taken after meals with some liquid. Cinazin Plus is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years. The dosage for the elderly is the same as for adults. The duration of treatment should generally not exceed four weeks.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Drowsiness
• Dry mouth
• Headache
• Stomach pain

Less common side effects may include impaired vision, allergic reactions, light sensitivity, and difficulty in urinating. Other possible reactions include weight gain, constipation, tightness of the chest, jaundice, worsening of angle-closure glaucoma, uncontrollable movements, unusual excitement and restlessness, and severe skin reactions.  

Precautions:

• Cinazin Plus may cause drowsiness and dizziness; therefore, patients should avoid driving or operating machinery.
• Alcohol consumption should be avoided while taking this medication as it can increase drowsiness.
• It should be taken after meals to minimize gastric irritation.
• Caution should be exercised when administering Cinazin Plus to patients with Parkinson's disease.
• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as it is generally not recommended during these periods.
• Use with caution in patients with low blood pressure (hypotension).

Contraindications: Cinazin Plus is contraindicated in patients with:

• Known hypersensitivity to cinnarizine, dimenhydrinate, or other antihistamines with a similar structure, or any of the excipients.
• Severe hepatic impairment.
• Angle-closure glaucoma.
• Convulsions (fits).
• Suspicion of raised intracranial pressure.
• Alcohol abuse.
• Urine retention due to urethroprostatic disorders.

Drug Interactions: Concurrent use of Cinazin Plus with alcohol, CNS depressants, or tricyclic antidepressants may enhance the sedative effects of either these drugs or of cinnarizine and dimenhydrinate. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid these drugs while taking Cinazin Plus.
