Calsil PLUS 

Presentation: Usually contains Calcium Carbonate and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol). The strengths may vary, but a common presentation is Calcium Carbonate equivalent to Elemental Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 200 IU. 

Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency. Used in conditions such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, tetany, and parathyroid disease. Also used as a supplement to ensure adequate intake during pregnancy and lactation, osteogenesis, tooth formation, and with anti-seizure medications. May be used as a routine supplement and phosphate binder in chronic renal failure.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dosage is 1 to 2 tablets daily, or 1 tablet twice daily, preferably with or just after a meal to improve absorption. Swallow with a full glass of water, or as directed by a physician.

Side Effects: Generally well-tolerated. Possible side effects may include nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, dry mouth, increased thirst, and increased urination. Constipation may occur.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcaemia, hyperthyroidism, renal calculi, nephrolithiasis, and Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome. Use with caution in patients with pre-existing heart or kidney disease.

Storage: Keep in a dry place away from light and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
