Biovit 

Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing a combination of B-complex vitamins (Thiamine HCl, Riboflavin, Nicotinamide, Pyridoxine HCl). Different formulations under the name "Biovit" may exist with varying compositions including other vitamins and minerals. Available in strips or bottles. Manufactured by Biopharma Limited and other companies in Bangladesh.

Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of Vitamin B-complex deficiencies, which can manifest as beriberi, Wernicke's encephalopathy, loss of appetite, cheilosis, glossitis, angular stomatitis, keratitis, seborrheic dermatitis, pellagra, photophobia, peripheral neuritis, and corneal vascularization. Also used in conditions causing depletion or reduced absorption of B-vitamins, and for general nutritional supplementation in physiologically stressful conditions.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dosage is 1-2 tablets/capsules three times daily, or as directed by a physician.

Side Effects: Generally well-tolerated. Allergic and idiosyncratic reactions are possible, although rare at recommended doses. Gastrointestinal intolerance has been reported with iron in some formulations of multivitamins.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) may decrease the efficacy of Levodopa in patients with Parkinson's disease, so concurrent use should be cautious. Caution should be exercised in patients previously sensitive to thiamine.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Store below 30°C or as specified on the product packaging.
