Astagen 4

Presentation: Each capsule contains Astaxanthin INN 4 mg. Available in blister packs containing [Number] capsules, manufactured by General Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Indications: Astagen 4 is indicated as a strong antioxidant. It is also used to improve cardiovascular health (atherosclerosis, reduce cholesterol), improve immune function, improve skin condition, protect skin from sun damage (reduce wrinkles, pimples and other signs of aging), improve recovery from central nervous system injuries, protect eyes from cataracts and macular degeneration, reduce inflammation (arthritis), and reduce the risk of infertility. It may also reduce oxidative damage to DNA, decrease the risk for many types of cancer, and stabilize blood sugar.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dose is 4 mg daily, taken orally with or immediately before a meal in the morning. Dosage may be increased by a physician up to 16 mg daily depending on the condition being treated.

Side Effects: No severe side effects have been reported yet. High doses might cause increased bowel movements and red stool color, and possibly stomach pain.

Precautions: Contraindicated in individuals with known allergies to astaxanthin. Pregnant women and lactating mothers should avoid Astagen 4 supplements as safety data is lacking. Concomitant intake with Cholestyramine, Colestipol, Mineral oil, or Orlistat may reduce astaxanthin absorption.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
