Anleptic CR 200

Presentation: Each controlled-release tablet contains 200 mg Carbamazepine.

Indications: Treatment of certain types of seizures (partial, tonic-clonic, mixed), trigeminal neuralgia, and bipolar disorder (manic episodes and maintenance treatment).

Dosage & Administration: Dosage varies by condition. For epilepsy in adults, initial dose is typically 200 mg twice daily, may be gradually increased. For trigeminal neuralgia, initial dose is usually 100-200 mg twice daily, may be increased. For bipolar disorder, initial dose is often 200 mg twice daily, may be adjusted. Follow doctor's instructions. Swallow tablets whole, do not crush or chew. May be taken with or without food.

Side Effects: Common: Dizziness, drowsiness, unsteadiness, nausea, vomiting. Less common: Blurred vision, headache, skin rash, hyponatremia (low sodium). Rare: Liver problems, blood disorders, severe skin reactions.

Precautions: Inform doctor of liver or kidney problems, heart conditions, blood disorders, glaucoma, porphyria, or if pregnant or breastfeeding. May interact with many other medications. Monitor blood levels periodically. May decrease the effectiveness of oral contraceptives.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
