Andepram 10 Tablet

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains 10 mg of Escitalopram. 

Indications: Andepram is indicated for the treatment of:

• Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
• Panic Disorder with or without agoraphobia
• Social Anxiety Disorder (Social Phobia)
• Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Dosage and Administration: The usual starting dose for depression and generalized anxiety disorder in adults is 10 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to a maximum of 20 mg once daily based on individual patient response. For panic disorder and social anxiety disorder, the initial dose is usually 5 mg once daily for the first week before increasing to 10 mg once daily. For OCD, the starting dose is typically 10 mg once daily, which may be increased to 20 mg daily. It is usually taken orally once a day, with or without food. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Nausea
• Headache
• Insomnia
• Fatigue
• Dry mouth
• Sweating
• Sexual dysfunction (decreased libido, ejaculatory delay, anorgasmia)

Less common but potentially serious side effects can occur. It's important to discuss any unusual symptoms with your doctor.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with a history of mania or hypomania, seizure disorders, hepatic or renal impairment, and cardiac problems (including QT prolongation).
• May increase the risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior in children, adolescents, and young adults, especially during the initial months of treatment and when the dosage is changed.
• Serotonin syndrome, a potentially life-threatening condition, may occur when Andepram is used with other serotonergic drugs.
• Avoid abrupt discontinuation of Andepram to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Dosage should be gradually reduced under medical supervision.
• Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding; consult your doctor.

Contraindications: Andepram is contraindicated in patients with:

• Hypersensitivity to escitalopram or any of the excipients.
• Concomitant use with nonselective, irreversible monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of discontinuing an MAOI.
• Concomitant use with pimozide.

Drug Interactions: Andepram can interact with other medications, including:

• MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors)
• Other SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) and SNRIs (serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors)
• Triptans
• Lithium
• Tramadol
• Warfarin and other anticoagulants
• Drugs that affect the QT interval

Inform your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking.
