Tufnil Tablet - (200mg)

Presentation: Each tablet contains 200 mg of Tolfenamic Acid. Available in strips of [mention typical strip size, e.g., 10 tablets].

Indications: Tufnil 200 is indicated for the relief of pain associated with acute migraine headaches. It is also used as an analgesic for mild to moderate pain, including post-operative pain and fever. It belongs to a class of medications known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Dosage and Administration: For acute migraine attacks, the usual adult dose is 200 mg taken at the first sign of symptoms. If the migraine persists, a second dose of 200 mg may be taken after 1-2 hours. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 400 mg. For mild to moderate pain, the usual adult dose is 100-200 mg taken three times a day (tid). Tufnil tablets should be taken with food or immediately after meals with water. The pediatric dosage has not been established. Dosage adjustments may be needed for patients with renal impairment, and it should be avoided in severe renal impairment.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include diarrhea, nausea, epigastric pain, vomiting, and dyspepsia. Other possible side effects include erythema, headache, tremor, euphoria, fatigue, pulmonary infiltration, and hematuria. Rare but potentially serious side effects such as alveolitis, hepatic damage, pancreatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, angioedema, and blood disorders may occur.

Precautions: Tufnil should be used with caution in patients with asthma, bronchospasm, bleeding disorders, cardiovascular diseases, a history of peptic ulceration, hypertension, liver or kidney impairment, and in the elderly. It is contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcers or bleeding in the gut and severe heart, kidney, or liver failure. It is not generally recommended during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, and should be avoided if possible during breastfeeding.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, away from light. Keep out of the reach of children.
